to the Department of Occupational Therapy, University College Oeresund


The Danish Occupational Theapist education in Copenhagen offers a bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy. The programme is based on 3 1/2 years, or 210 ECTS, of which 42 points are clinical training and education. The programme has been approved and accredited by WFOT.
The main fields of study are:

  • Health sciences
  • Social sciences

The distribution of the ECTS points is described in the individual semesters and fields of study.
There are also descriptions of the 5th and 7th semester, as the 5th contains courses in health promotion and disease prevention, especially related to working environment, and the 7th describes the criteria of the bachelor dissertation.
Studying at the Occupational Therapy Department
Access requirements

Acceptance to the Bachelor Degree in Occupational Therapy study programme requires nine months of documented full-time work experience and one of the following examinations completed:

  • Danish “studentereksamen” (A-level or equivalent)
  • Higher Preparatory Examination, HF (A-level equivalent)
  • Higher Commercial Examination, HHX (A-level equivalent)
  • Higher Technical Examination, HTX (A-level equivalent)
  • Foreign examinations which have either been recognised by Denmark as equivalent to the Danish qualifications, or which the school have deemed to be comparable to these qualifications
As an exchange student

All courses are in Danish, so in order to follow these you must be fluent in the Danish language or have one of the Scandinavian languages as your first language.
If you seek clinical training you must have a good working knowledge of English or Danish in order to be able to communicate with the clinical advisors as well as the patients.
